1. StackUp - Where We Stack Up the Fun!
Buckle up, because StackUp is in town!
It's not just about learning the latest tech stacks but diving headfirst into the exciting world of building projects from scratch. We're talking AI tools, chatGPT, Bard, and more!
StackUp is an initiative by the TinkerHub Foundation to help students get started with project building. You can choose from 6 thrilling projects, and the goal is to build a project in just 7 days. What's more, you'll have mentors to assist you when you face challenges, and a wealth of resources to learn from.
2. SheLovesTech Conference - Women Power Unleashed!
This October, TinkerHub made dreams come true by sending three incredible women, S Fasna from CET, Sreelakshmi M K from RIT Kottayam, and Varsha Shaheen from CUSAT, to the SheLovesTech Conference in Singapore.
Facilitated by Ananya R, Community Head at She Loves Tech, this opportunity was indeed golden for the 3 girls who flew all the way to Singapore at connected with leaders, changemakers, entrepreneurs and tech enthusiasts.
Their journey was all about embracing technology, making a real impact, and redefining boundaries. These powerhouses were chosen based on their passion, tech contributions, and unstoppable drive.

3. FOSS FORCE - Putting FOSS in the Spotlight
FOSS contributors, you're our superheroes!
We've identified and celebrated more than 50 of you, and you got the chance to rock India FOSS 3.0 in Bangalore.
Guess what? We had a total of 49 seats up for grabs, and they were in hot demand. We reserved 30 of these seats for talented developers and FOSS enthusiasts, and 30% of them were for the amazing women in tech. Our TinkerHub team, including our talented employees, fellows, and interns, cheered you on!
4. Micro SaaS Panel - It's About the Tiniest of Wins
IEDC Summit in College of Engineering, Trivandrum, was epic, thanks to a mind-blowing panel discussion on Micro SaaS.
The lineup was star-studded with Mehar, the CEO of TinkerHub; Savio Martin, hailed as the Maker of The Year 2021 by Product Hunt; Yan Chummar, the Co-Founder at Minutes, both students currently in school and college respectively, and Aslam Abbas, the Product Marketing Specialist at Micro.company. We dived deep into the world of Micro SaaS, explored its significance, and got inspired by the journey of the panelists.
5. Women TECHspire - Navigating the Tech Galaxy
The Women TECHspire event at Toc H Engineering College, Kochi, was all about women blazing their trails in tech. Our amazing facilitators, Varsha Shaheen, WIT Fellow at TinkerHub; Ananya R, Head of Community at She Loves Tech; and Sona George, Program Manager at Tech4Good, guided everyone through navigating tech careers, understanding the essentials, and exploring opportunities in the world of NGOs.
6. TownHall - The Revival of Virtual Awesomeness
The long-awaited TownHall is back and better than ever! Our virtual gathering on Discord had it all.
We kept you in the loop with Tinkerhub's latest happenings, introduced you to Kerala's first student-made satellite, WESAT, showcased projects from our Saturday Hacknight, and kicked things off with ice-breaking and mind-blowing fun activities. It was a virtual blast!
WHAT HAPPENED AT TINKERSPACE?
In October, TinkerSpace was abuzz with tech-inspired events and valuable learning opportunities:
Hactoberfest at CUSAT (October 7th): Hosted by the Student Association of Information Technology of CUSAT, this month-long Hacktoberfest was a journey into the open-source world, offering beginners a chance to explore Git-based workflows and learn about the importance of Free and Open Source Software (FOSS).
CodeCraft: A Flask Hackathon (October 14th): Organized by TinkerHub AISAT, this hackathon aimed at first-year college students, encouraging them to break away from traditional learning. Using the Flask framework, participants developed applications like weather detection apps and to-do lists, fostering both coding skills and innovation.
Localization KICKOFF (October 10th): In collaboration with the T4G Impact Tech Foundation, this event focused on enhancing Malayalam localization for platforms like Mozilla Firefox and Kobo Toolbox, ensuring a user-friendly experience for Malayalam-speaking users.
Introduction to Beckn Protocol (October 24th): A workshop by the Foundation for Interoperability in Digital Economy introduced attendees to the transformative Beckn Protocol. This open protocol aims to break down barriers between applications, promoting seamless interoperability and fluid data exchanges for a more connected digital future.
My Story Session with Nikhil Dharman (October 27th): Organized by TiE Kerala, this intimate session provided insights into the journey of Nikhil Dharman, CTO at Algorithma DigiTech Pvt Ltd, showcasing the challenges and successes of entrepreneurs.
Monthly Meetup with CNCFKOCHI & AWSUGKOCHI (October 28th): A dual-speaker event explored cloud-native architectures and AWS solutions, offering valuable knowledge on architecting reliable software in the cloud-native era and deployment strategies on Amazon ECS.
MakerChat0x19: Introduction to Electric Vehicle Inverter (October 7th): This event, hosted at TinkerSpace and organized by MakerGram, delved into the inner workings of electric vehicle inverters, offering insights into design, field-oriented control, and modulation signal generation, along with hands-on modeling using Matlab Simulink.
