Unleashing Creativity: Day 1 at Women Makers Celebration
March 22-23, 2024 | A Confluence of Creativity and Ambition
“WMC gave me a structured idea on how you can work on a project along from initially getting an idea to deploying it. I had the idea for the project before WMC, but after the team session, I thought that now would be the time to build it. I worked on it, last week taking into account the system we set up, and was able to develop it completely with the basic functions I wanted by Saturday.” -Shivani L R, LBSITW
Day 1 of the Women Makers Celebration was a resounding success, with 100 makers across 20 teams converging at Santhigiri Ashram to unlock their creative potential. The day was structured around interactive sessions focusing on the maker's journey, from conceptualizing ideas to developing a tangible framework for product creation.
Key Highlights:
Engagement: A diverse group of 100 participants delved into the intricacies of being a maker, sharing insights and collaboratively crafting over 10 unique motives that drive their passion for innovation.
Collaboration: Through intensive discussions and team activities, participants outlined a practical maker framework, identifying crucial steps needed to transform a concept into reality, and setting a foundation for future projects.
Day 1 of WMC, exclusive for the top 100 participants of Tink Her Hack 2.0, was all about fostering them and giving them the deep environment to create a framework that works for their growth in the current Kerala scenario.
It was not a series of workshops where mentors and industry experts taught ‘how to do X,’ but rather a space where students comfortably took time to question themselves on ‘what, how, why, and when’ and found workable solutions with the help of mentor buddies…
Event Outcomes:
Creating a collaborative maker framework, adopted by 20 teams for upcoming TinkerHub projects.
Strategic partnerships with industry leaders set the stage for future collaborations and opportunities.
The first day's workshop not only fostered a deep understanding of the maker's mindset but also set a collaborative tone for the event, paving the way for continued innovation and learning on Day 2.
